Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit under RN supervision. Conduct frequent assessments for subtle condition changes in patients with COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, pneumonia, or those requiring high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, tracheostomies, or chest tubes. Coordinate care with the Stroke Coordinator for acute stroke and TIA patients, while providing stroke education and maintaining patient confidentiality. Maintain professional accountability for care delivery and ensure rights and privacy are upheld. Requires current LPN license, Practical Nursing Degree, and BLS/IV certification.
Required Qualifications
- Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
- IV Certification within 1 year
