Job Summary
Provide patient care under RN supervision using the nursing process, maintaining accountability for assigned patients on the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit. Conduct frequent assessments to detect subtle condition changes in complex cases involving COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, pneumonia, tracheostomies, and chest tubes. Collaborate with the Stroke Coordinator for acute stroke and TIA patients, delivering stroke education and managing high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and continuous nursing vigilance. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality while coordinating care across departments. Requires current LPN license, practical nursing degree, and BLS/IV certification.
Required Qualifications
- Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
- IV Certification within 1 year
