Job Summary
Provide patient care under RN supervision on the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit, utilizing the nursing process for complex assessments of patients with COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, pneumonia, tracheostomies, and chest tubes. Coordinate care for acute stroke and TIA patients with the Stroke Coordinator while maintaining patient confidentiality. Manage high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and continuous nursing vigilance for these critical cases. Requires a current LPN license, Practical Nursing Degree, BLS certification, and IV certification within one year. Available for PRN shifts at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
- IV Certification within 1 year
