Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for neurology and pulmonary stroke unit patients under RN supervision. Conduct frequent assessments for acute stroke, TIA, COPD, and respiratory failure patients requiring complex interventions like high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, or tracheostomy management. Coordinate care with the Stroke Coordinator and tele-neuro services while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients and provide stroke education. Requires current LPN license and BLS/IV certification.
Required Qualifications
- Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
- IV Certification within 1 year
