Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrate competency in age and population-specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions for emergent situations. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety by administering medications or treatments as ordered, documenting interactions and outcomes, and counseling families on prevention and treatment plans. Work 12-hour night shifts, part-time, with a weekly schedule of 24 hours at Sanford Health's Woodsedge facility in Bemidji, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Must be able to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Must be able to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Must be able to ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents
- Must be able to administer medications or treatments as ordered
- Must be able to provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Must be able to document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with resident, health care providers, and the public
- Must be able to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Must be able to counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans
- Must be able to develop a self-care program using knowledge of resident education principles
- Must be able to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
