Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrate competency in nursing principles, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and perform testing to evaluate resident status. Ensure health, comfort, and safety while documenting interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective relationships with interdisciplinary care teams. Work evening shifts in Bemidji, MN, with a weekly schedule of 24 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program
