Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrate competency in nursing principles, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to respond effectively to emergent situations. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety while administering medications or treatments as ordered. Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Must be able to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Must be able to provide the care needed
- Must be able to recognize problems
- Must be able to recommend solutions
- Must be able to respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Must be able to ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents
- Must be able to contribute to the assessment of residents

- Must be able to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Must be able to communicate clearly
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Must be able to counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans
- Must be able to develop a self-care program
