Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrate competency in nursing principles, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and perform testing to evaluate resident status. Ensure health, comfort, and safety while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams. Work evening shifts with a weekly schedule of 24 hours at $27.32 to $34.84 per hour plus premium pay, with access to health insurance, 401(k) matching, and continuing education opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Ability to ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents
- Ability to contribute to the assessment of residents
- Ability to administer medications or treatments as ordered
- Ability to provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Ability to document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with resident, health care providers, and the public
- Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans
- Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program
- Must be available for evening shifts
- Must be available for part-time work
- Must be able to work 24.00 weekly hours
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (implied by nursing duties and safety requirements)
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must pass pre-employment background screening
