Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Demonstrate competency in nursing principles to address physical and psychosocial needs per care plans, including performing tests to evaluate resident status. Ensure health, comfort, and safety by administering medications, documenting interactions, and counseling families on prevention and treatment plans. Recognize problems and respond effectively to assist in emergent situations while maintaining confidentiality and working within an interdisciplinary care team. Work evening shifts with a 24-hour weekly schedule at Sanford Health's Woodsedge facility in Bemidji, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Counseling residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician
- Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program
- Must be available for evening shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must pass pre-employment background screening
