Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Demonstrate competency in age and population-specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions during emergent situations. Ensure health, comfort, and safety while administering medications or treatments as ordered. Document interactions, outcomes, and care plans; counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment strategies. Work effectively within an interdisciplinary care team to maintain confidentiality and support self-care programs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Must be able to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Must be able to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Must be able to ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents
- Must be able to administer medications or treatments as ordered
- Must be able to provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Must be able to document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with resident, health care providers, and the public
- Must be able to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Must be able to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Must be able to counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans
- Must be able to develop a self-care program using knowledge of resident education principles
- Must be able to work night shifts (8 Hours - Night Shifts)
