Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Demonstrate competency in age and population-specific standards for physical and psychosocial needs, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions during emergent situations. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety while administering medications and treatments as ordered. Document interactions, outcomes, and care plans; counsel residents and families on prevention and treatment strategies. Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team to maintain confidentiality and establish self-care programs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
- Ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation
- Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program
