Job Summary
LPN/MA for Firelands Health Gastroenterology is a full-time on-site role in Sandusky, OH. The nurse/medical assistant provides professional nursing care under physician supervision, supports patient care and clinic services, and performs duties including monitoring patient vitals, documenting medications, phlebotomy, EKG, stress testing, scheduling procedures, tracking and charging equipment, and performing medical scribe tasks. Requires Ohio licensure as an LPN or a valid medical assistant certification, CPR certification, and ability to apply nursing processes with strong critical thinking. Prior experience in a medical office/urgent care setting is preferred. On-site role with full-time hours and retention bonus offered.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited program of practical nursing with current licensure in the state of Ohio.
- OR must be a High school graduate. Medical Assistant certification required.
- Must have the ability to perform as a medical scribe.
- Prior experience in a medical office/urgent care setting preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Must be knowledgeable of technical application of nursing process.
- Must possess critical thinking skills, including skill in exercising initiative, judgement, problem solving, and decision making.
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
