Job Summary
Conduct pediatric patient care in an urgent care setting by obtaining medical histories, vital signs, and intake while performing procedures such as venipuncture, IV insertion, and urinary catheterization. Administer medications orally, rectally, intramuscularly, and intravenously under physician supervision, assist with patient positioning during x-rays, and maintain exam rooms with sterilized instruments. Perform monthly quality control checks, respond to emergencies, and support efficiency metrics to improve urgent care throughput. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality, follow safety protocols, and participate in continuing education. Requires active state nursing license, BLS, and pediatric experience; part-time schedule available.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience preferred
- Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside
- Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic's processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments
- Skill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population
- Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calm in emergencies
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
