Job Summary
Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in a pediatric urgent care setting providing clinical and administrative support to providers, patients, and office operations. Responsibilities include obtaining medical history and vitals, venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary catheterization, administering medications, assisting the physician, maintaining sterile technique and equipment, performing quality control, supporting x-ray processes, ensuring HIPAA-compliant confidentiality, responding to emergencies, and fostering effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Requires active nursing licensure, pediatric experience, and proficiency with standard nursing procedures; BLS is required and PALS is recommended.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience required (Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience preferred)
- Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure
- Experience with nursing procedures (IV placement, urinary catheterization, medication administration)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinic processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
- Ability to respond to emergencies promptly and assist physician with patient care
