Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Perform testing to evaluate resident status, recognize problems, and respond effectively to emergent situations. Administer medications or treatments as ordered, document interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs, and counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Associate degree in practical nursing
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum
  • Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board
  • Possess multi-state licensure privileges
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
  • Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
  • Graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum
  • Completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
  • Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
  • An accepted offer will require a drug screen
  • An accepted offer will require a pre-employment background screening

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
