Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care for residents in a long-term care setting under supervision, administers medications and treatments as ordered, documents resident interactions and outcomes, and participates in an interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include ensuring resident health, comfort, and safety; recognizing problems and responding effectively to emergent situations; communicating clearly while maintaining confidentiality; counseling residents and families on prevention and treatment plans; and supporting resident education and self-care programs. The role requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and an active LPN license, with additional state-specific requirements for IV therapy where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current unencumbered LPN license in state nursing board or multi-state licensure
- Associates degree in practical nursing preferred (education requirement)
- Possesses or can obtain required competencies and certifications
- Ability to perform supervision and continuing education units (CEU)
- IV therapy/management per state requirements in North Dakota (if applicable)
