Job Summary
Plan, develop, and implement nursing objectives, policies, and resident care plans while ensuring accurate documentation and timely physician order implementation. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and home care services; monitor locked areas and drug counts; and respond to resident call lights. Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants, visit each resident daily to verify care quality, and report resident conditions via shift-to-shift updates. Evaluate emergencies, maintain medication and supply stock levels, and participate in committee meetings such as the Risk Committee and Care Plan Team. Ensure compliance with resident rights and facility policies while assisting in in-service education and departmental projects.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of licensed practical nursing
- Valid certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
- Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
- Must complete a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as a condition of employment
- Good organizational skills
- Detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis
- Excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style
- Good communication skills; speaking, writing, and listening
- Fluency in English
- Good computer skills with the ability to learn and use proprietary software as required
- Supervisory responsibility for Certified Nursing Assistants
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum one year in the field of Long-Term Care
