Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term and transitional care under RN, advanced practice provider, or physician supervision. Administer medications or treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions for emergent situations. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety while documenting interactions, outcomes, and care plans. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and develop self-care programs. Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in Minnesota
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
