Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in a 42-bed long-term skilled care facility under the supervision of a registered nurse. Administer medications and treatments as ordered while ensuring resident health, comfort, and safety. Conduct assessments, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and document interactions related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans, and respond effectively to emergent situations. Work evening shifts from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, every other weekend, and rotating holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in Minnesota
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
