Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in a 42-bed skilled care facility under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications and treatments as ordered, conduct assessments to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to respond effectively in emergent situations. Document resident interactions, medication outcomes, and dietary activities while counseling families on prevention and treatment plans. Maintain resident health, comfort, and safety by establishing effective relationships with interdisciplinary care teams and communicating clearly while protecting sensitive information. Work evening shifts from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays, earning a sign-on bonus and shift incentives.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in Minnesota
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
