Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in a 42-bed long-term skilled care facility under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications and treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and document interactions, outcomes, and dietary needs. Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to emergent situations while ensuring resident health, comfort, and safety. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in Minnesota
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Must obtain and subsequently maintain required department specific competencies and certifications
- Must complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
