Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications or treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions and respond to emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team. Work evening shifts from 2pm to 10:30pm every other weekend as a part-time LPN.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
