Job Summary
Provide hands-on nursing care to medically complex children, administering medications and treatments safely while monitoring for changes in condition. Support individualized care plans, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate updates to RNs, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. Collaborate actively on change-of-shift reports and seek RN guidance when care needs exceed LPN scope. Mentor Nursing Technicians and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within a pediatric-specialized environment. After orientation, receive over three weeks of clinical training before working independently. Night shifts include a competitive differential.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current state license in good standing for the state in which work is performed
- Valid, current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor as described in 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors
- This position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- Training and work experience in a pediatric setting preferred
