Job Summary
Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license. Contribute to patient assessments, administer medications while observing for adverse reactions, and perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services. Educate patients and families regarding disease treatment plans, self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care. Full-time night shifts (7pm–7am) with 3–12-hour weekly rotations. Requires Alabama LPN licensure, current BLS certification, and graduation from an accredited practical nursing program. UAB St. Vincent's serves Alabama with five hospitals and clinics, fostering a collaborative spirit among 4,800 employees while addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual patient needs.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent
