Job Summary
Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license. Contribute to patient assessments and assure well-being by administering medications and observing for adverse reactions. Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services while educating patients and families on disease treatment plans, self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, and follow-up care. Full-time night shifts (7pm-7am) with 3-12 hour shifts per week. Requires current Alabama LPN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and a Practical Nursing degree. UAB St. Vincent's serves Alabama with five hospitals and clinics, rooted in compassion and recognized by U.S. News & World Report.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent
