Job Summary
Administer medications and treatments to assigned residents as ordered by physicians, utilizing the five rights. Direct and monitor personal care duties and nursing care procedures carried out by Nursing Assistants, while assisting with direct resident care as necessary. Report unusual symptoms, changes in condition, and daily resident needs to the Unit Manager, Assistant Unit Manager, or Charge Nurse Supervisor. Follow the Plan of Care for each resident and monitor Nursing Assistant performance in implementing care plans. Receive controlled substances from the shift Supervisory Nurse and manage all aspects of storage and distribution, ensuring proper placement in medication carts, stock cupboards, refrigerators, and narcotic cabinets. Document care in Nursing Notes, Medical Administration Records, Treatment Records, and other required records. Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities available with flexible 12 or 8-hour shift options including evening and overnight coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license
- Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Caring, respectful attitude towards residents
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- LPN Training and work experience in a geriatric setting
