Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications and treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions during emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents by contributing to assessments and counseling families on prevention and treatment plans. Document resident interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs while maintaining confidentiality. Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team to establish relationships with residents, providers, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Associate degree in practical nursing
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board
- Possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- Drug screen
- Pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
