Job Summary
LPN delivers medications and nursing care in a retirement community, supervising Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides, participating in care planning, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications, transcribing and executing physician orders, coordinating resident care activities, assisting with admissions/discharges, and ensuring confidentiality and adherence to policies. The role involves evaluating residents’ physical and psychological needs, coordinating with the care team, and supporting line staff while ensuring compassionate, professional care.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid LPN license in the state of care
- Judgment capabilities, initiative, and dependability
- Ability to read, write, and understand English well
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, and turn frequently during an eight-hour shift
- Ability to lift 30 pounds in assisting residents
- Ability to push a med cart and assist with physician orders
- Ability to react quickly and decisively in emergencies
