Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in a 79-bed long-term skilled care facility under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications and treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions for emergent situations. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans, and establish effective relationships with the interdisciplinary care team. Work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends with a requirement of six shifts per month.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in Minnesota
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Must be available to work 6 shifts per months to include two weekend shifts and holiday rotation
- Must have IV therapy/management skills
- Must obtain and subsequently maintain required department specific competencies and certifications
- Must complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- Must pass a drug screen and pre-employment background screening
