Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term and transitional settings under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Administer medications and treatments as ordered, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to recommend solutions and respond effectively to emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents, family members, and advocates on prevention and treatment plans under direction, and establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed LPN in Minnesota
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Must be available to work 6 shifts per months to include two weekend shifts and holiday rotation
- Must have IV therapy/management skills
- Must obtain and subsequently maintain required department specific competencies and certifications
- Must complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility
- Must pass a drug screen and pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
