Job Summary
Provides direct patient care in the acute care setting of the emergency department or inpatient area utilizing various nursing skills and established standards of care at the direction of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include administering treatments and medications as prescribed, documenting patient needs and responses, contributing to interdisciplinary team care, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality, and supporting patient and family education. Maintains nursing competencies, participates in quality and safety initiatives, and uses EPIC electronic health records to document care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse-NM
- PDS IV training as part of orientation
- BLS required
- Basic Cardiac Arhythmia (BCA) for areas with cardiac telemetry monitoring
- ACLS - within 6 months of hire for areas where required
- Valid NM Drivers license; meet qualifications of PHS driver policy for areas - Home Health and Hospice only
