Job Summary
Provide direct resident/patient care under Registered Nurse supervision, including nursing assessments, medication dispensing, vital checks, wound care, and personal assistance. Follow physician treatment plans, evaluate patient responses, and accurately document nursing care to meet state and Village requirements. Report resident changes or needs to managing staff and may delegate tasks to care givers. Perform homemaking and environmental services when necessary. Drive between locations to access patient residences and adhere to all safety regulations. Maintain workplace conduct standards while handling stress and interacting with customers. Complete required training as dictated by policy.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited School of Nursing education
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- IV certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (for VCC hires)
- Valid driver's license
- Basic level knowledge of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, handbooks and procedure manuals
- Ability to write simple sentences, paragraphs and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to handle stress well
- Ability to get along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department
- Acceptable standards of workplace conduct
- Ability to perform maximum occasional lift of 75 lbs from knuckle to waist level
- Ability to perform maximum occasional lift of 20 lbs from floor to 48 inches
- Ability to perform maximum occasional carry of 20 lbs for 75 ft
- Ability to perform maximum occasional push/pull horizontal of 40 lbs at 40 inches height for 100 feet
- Ability to perform maximum frequent push/pull horizontal of 10 lbs at 46 inches for 100 feet
- Ability to perform maximum occasional grip force of 40 lbs
- Ability to perform maximum occasional lateral pinch force of 15 lbs
- Ability to perform maximum occasional climb of 8 inches
- Ability to perform frequent forward reach
- Ability to perform frequent bend
- Ability to perform frequent fine motor coordination
- Ability to perform occasional foot coordination
- Ability to perform occasional balance
- Ability to perform frequent sitting
- Ability to perform continuous standing
- Ability to perform continuous walking
- Ability to function around individuals with challenged mental capacities
- Ability to drive from one location to another if necessary for services provided through the department
- Ability to be exposed to outdoor elements while accessing a patient's residence
