Job Summary

Conduct physical examinations, establish medical histories, and evaluate donor suitability for plasma donation centers. Build rapport with donors, ensure confidentiality, and provide education on general health and counseling for unacceptable test results. Evaluate and manage donor injuries, adverse events, and histories of illness or medications. Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program and assist in staff training. Perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in extreme cold environments while wearing protective gear. Requires current state licensure as an LPN or LVN, CPR certification, and specific physical and sensory attributes. Competitive pay based on licensure and experience, with a $3000 sign-on bonus, no third shift, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement.

Required Qualifications

  • EMT Basic, EMT Advanced, Paramedic, LVN, or LPN
  • Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocation Nurse
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects
  • Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Works independently and within guidance of oral or written instructions
  • Light lifting of 15lbs. with a maximum lift of 50lbs.
  • Ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
  • Ability to bend and twist of neck up from 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Ability to stand and sit for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
  • Ability to squat, crouch or sit on one's heels on rare occasion
  • Ability to walk, bends and twists at waist
  • Ability to reach below shoulder height
  • Ability to perform functions in plasma freezers with exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear
