Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, Intensive Care, and Medical-Surgical units at Mercy facilities in St. Louis, Festus, South St. Louis County, Washington, Troy, Perryville, Cape Girardeau, and Dexter. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information. This flexible gig role requires scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours and availability for day or night shifts. Candidates must hold a current LPN license, IV certification, and relevant BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications depending on the specialty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, and other specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
