Job Summary
Provide patient care under RN supervision using the nursing process, maintaining accountability for assigned patients and coordinating with other departments. Float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities including St. Louis, Festus, South St. Louis County, Washington, Troy, Perryville, Cape Girardeau, and Dexter. Work in Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or Medical-Surgical units. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days while remaining available on short notice for flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. Maintain current LPN licensure, BLS certification (and ACLS/PALS as required for specialty units), and IV certification. Push, pull, or lift 50 pounds regularly while standing and walking for prolonged periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, etc.
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift
