Job Summary
Conduct patient care under RN supervision across Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units at Mercy St. Louis, Jefferson, South, Washington, Lincoln, Perry, Southeast, and Stoddard facilities. Utilize the nursing process to maintain patient rights, confidentiality, and accountability while coordinating care with other departments. Provide bedside support in Med-Surg, ICU, and ED roles, requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications where applicable. Maintain a current LPN license and IV certification, demonstrating one year of recent bed-side experience for Med-Surg or two years for critical/emergency specialties. Perform duties involving lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and walking. Schedule minimum 12 hours every 90 days with flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, subject to short-notice availability and potential last-minute cancellations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Willingness to float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities of their choice
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
