Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information. Float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities as needed. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, remaining available on short notice, and accepting last-minute shift cancellations. Work various shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, including day or night options, with no weekend or holiday requirements. Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly while standing and walking for prolonged periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, and other specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility

- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
