Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under RN supervision while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities as needed, with availability for day or night shifts and last-minute cancellations. Maintain a current LPN license and IV certification, completing required BLS and ACLS/PALS training based on specialty. Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly while standing and walking throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, and other specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
