Job Summary
Provide patient care under RN supervision using the nursing process, maintaining accountability for assigned patients while coordinating with other departments. Float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and obtain or maintain current LPN licensure within the hiring state. Requires one year of recent bed-side LPN experience for Med Surg or two years for ED/ICU roles, plus BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications where applicable. Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly with prolonged standing and walking. Schedule minimum 12 hours every 90 days with flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, and other specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS certification for Critical Care
- BLS and ACLS certification for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
