Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under RN supervision while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units at multiple Mercy facilities. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, remaining available on short notice, and accepting last-minute cancellations. Float between designated facilities as needed. Requires current LPN licensure, IV certification, and relevant bedside experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, and other specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities of their choice
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
