Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse or Registered Professional Nurse, maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units while protecting patient rights and confidentiality. Float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities in St. Louis, Festus, South St. Louis County, Washington, Troy, Perryville, Cape Girardeau, and Dexter. Maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and meet minimum hour requirements of 12 hours every 90 days. Participate in a Gig Nursing Program with variable shift incentives, subject to short-notice scheduling and last-minute cancellations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, etc.
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certification for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
