Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under RN supervision while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Coordinate care across designated Mercy Hospital facilities including Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units. Float between locations such as Mercy Lincoln, Mercy St. Louis, and Mercy Perry as needed. Maintain a current LPN license and obtain required certifications like BLS, ACLS, and PALS depending on specialty. Participate in a flexible Gig program with no weekend or holiday requirements, though shifts may be cancelled on short notice. Push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly while standing and walking throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, etc.
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice

- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
