Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under RN supervision while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Coordinate care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units at Mercy facilities in St. Louis, Festus, South St. Louis County, Washington, Troy, Perryville, Cape Girardeau, and Dexter. Maintain a current LPN license, hold recent bed-side experience (one year for Med Surg, two years for ED/ICU), and possess BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications and IV skills. Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly while standing, walking, and performing physical tasks like gripping, reaching, and squatting. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days with flexible shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours, subject to last-minute cancellations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, and other specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice

- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities of their choice
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
