Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under RN supervision while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units at Mercy facilities in St. Louis, Festus, and surrounding communities. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality while ensuring IV certification and current licensure. Participate in a flexible Gig program requiring a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days with no guaranteed shifts or weekend requirements. Available for 4, 8, or 12-hour rotations across various shifts, including last-minute cancellations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for ED, ICU, etc.
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to float between designated Mercy Hospital facilities
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
