Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care across departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality while floating between designated Mercy Hospital facilities in Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or Medical-Surgical units. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, remaining available on short notice, and accepting flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and hold required certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS depending on the specialty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent bed-side LPN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- IV certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
