Job Summary
Provide patient care in a general surgery setting under supervision or direction of a licensed professional. Employ the nursing process to implement care, coordinate with medical staff and departments, uphold patient rights and confidentiality, and maintain competencies including BLS and unit-specific certifications. Responsibilities include assessing patients, delivering nursing care, monitoring status, and supporting post-operative recovery in collaboration with the healthcare team. Minimum education: nursing program graduate; licensure as LPN in the hiring state/compact state; ongoing certification requirements as per unit needs. Physical duties include lifting, standing, and mobility as part of routine perioperative and surgical patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- LPN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One or more advanced certifications may be required based on position/unit: ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, STABLE, C-EFM, etc.
