Job Summary
Assist in planning, providing, and evaluating patient care while adhering to asepsis and infection control guidelines. Supervise patient care with direct accountability to the RN charge nurse, collaborate on nursing care plans, and observe patients for drug reactions or unusual conditions. Administer medications via all acceptable routes, prepare specific medications, and document all care precisely. Transport patients, assist with ambulation, and maintain proper stock of emergency supplies and equipment. Communicate respectfully with patients and families, respond promptly to needs, and utilize the chain of command to resolve unit concerns. Maintain confidentiality, participate in quality assurance programs, and complete mandatory in-service training.
Required Qualifications
- Current license in New York State
- Maintenance of current certification in CPR
- Ability to provide superior patient experience in an office setting
- Ability to create superior patient experiences while generating positive guest relations in an office setting
- Ability to work effectively and communicate effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in medication administration
- Practiced phlebotomy skills
- Ability to cost-effectively manage use of resources and supplies
- Ability to lift, carrying, repositioning, and transferring patients using proper body mechanics
- Ability to lift, pushing and pulling beds, wheelchairs and recliners in excess of approximately 200 pounds with assistance
- Attendance as scheduled
- Compliance with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations
- Maintain confidentiality in all patient, hospital, and physician-related information
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in a medical office setting
