Job Summary
LPN with full-time night shift (6p-6a, alternating weekends) providing comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting at Porter County Jail. Responsibilities include administering medications, conducting medical intakes, responding to sick calls, changing dressings, performing 14-day physicals, managing chronic conditions, and responding to medical emergencies. Must maintain pharmacology knowledge, assist Medically Trained Personnel, comply with laws and regulations, and support patient education. Requires active LPN/RN licensure and CPR certification; endurance for long shifts and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Location: Valparaiso, IN (Porter County Jail).
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN or RN licensure
- Valid CPR certification
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
