Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents in long-term care under supervision, performing nursing duties within the full scope of practice. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments as ordered, performing assessments to evaluate resident status, recognizing problems and coordinating with the interdisciplinary care team, documenting interactions and outcomes, educating residents and families on prevention and self-care, and maintaining confidentiality. Must hold an unencumbered LPN license and meet any program-specific competencies and continuing education requirements; includes opportunities such as benefits, shift differentials, and advancement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
- Unencumbered LPN license with state board
- Experience or coursework relevant to IV therapy (ND-specific requirement) if applicable
- Pre-licensure clinical experience across life span or 400 hours of LPN experience as required by facility
