Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Demonstrate competency in nursing principles, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and recognize problems to respond effectively in emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents while administering medications or treatments as ordered. Document resident interactions, outcomes, and care plans; counsel families on prevention and treatment strategies. Establish effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary care team and maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required certifications and completes required continuing education units (CEU) and competency training
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- One year of experience preferred in one of the following settings: long-term care, subacute care, or medical/surgical
